Donate to EVLoves Interfaith Ramadan Iftar Dinner
At EVLoves we represent all faiths and we love to celebrate special occasions and the multiple religious holidays of our fellow New Yorkers. For Ramadan we are collaborating to plan an interfaith dinner. In Islam there is a concept called Iftar. It occurs during Ramadan, and it’s a time where Muslims all over the world serve free food so that people from all walks of life can eat together.
One of our missions at EVLoves is to feed as many people as possible each week, and we’ve already cooked over 100,000 meals for our fellow New Yorkers in the last 12 months. Check out some of our work in the video below:
For Ramadan we’ve created one of our much celebrated grassroots fund raising events so that we can involve more people and team with the Muslim communities of NYC.
Iftar is always centered on good works and remembrance. This particular event has an essential element of remembrance in that we want to also lift up the names of the victims of police brutality in our city, and in the wider United States. Our aim is to commit this act of kindness in the names of those who lost their lives to police brutality as a form of remembrance, and to contribute to lifting their names into a higher light.
This event is, therefore, a memorial in honor of those who have been persecuted by an unfair system, and an opportunity to share kindness through the beauty of food.
All funds raised in this event will go to feeding anyone who has a need in our city, from all faiths, and all walks of life. Our 100% volunteer run 501(3)(c) non-profit organization can make a healthy and nutritious Iftar meal for $1.25 (including a variety of appetizers and desserts) and we look forward to feeding the people of NYC with your donation and simultaneously uplifting the names of those who have lost their lives.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) non profit and all your donations are 100% tax deductible.
